Blue Ribbon Awards
February 27, 2006 – Saint Damian School received its second National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence award from Christine Cohn of the U.S. Department of Education. Father Meany presided over a special paraliturgy dedicated to the educators and students that continue to make Saint Damian School a devoted learning community. Our first Blue Ribbon was awarded in 1991.
September 23rd, 2005 – It was announced that Saint Damian School has been awarded its SECOND U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon School Award.
This prestigious award validates the tremendous dedication of our administration and teachers and the high achievement of our students.
Saint Damian School is one of only two Catholic elementary schools in Illinois to be awarded this national honor in 2005-06. Bravo to everyone who worked to achieve this goal!
The U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors public and private K-12 schools that are either academically superior in the states or demonstrate dramatic gains in student achievements.
