Mrs. Julie Krema obtained her B.S. in Accountancy from University of Illinois.  Following that, she passed the CPA exam and worked in commercial Real Estate.  After working for a few years, she went back to school and studied for her MBA in Finance at the University of Chicago.  That led to a career in New York in Investment Banking and then subsequently back in Chicago.  During that time, Mrs. Krema taught 2nd grade Religious Education and felt a pull towards education.  Eventually she gave up her corporate career and took classes at DePaul University to obtain her Teaching Certification for K-9.   While student teaching at Sacred Heart Schools in Chicago, she designed and implemented the math curriculum in her assigned classroom. Mrs. Krema and her husband, Larry, live in Western Springs, where they are active parishioners at St. John of the Cross parish.  Their three children attend Catholic schools as well, with Cate going into her freshman year at Fenwick High School, Claire entering 6th grade at St. John of the Cross and Luke starting 5th grade at St. John’s too. It is with much enthusiasm that she joins the faculty at St. Damian and teaches 4th and 5th grade math.
