My first year here at St. Damian I secured an energy grant from ESP. The 5th grade put on an energy night that was attended by the community. In my 15 years of teaching, I was blessed with many accolades for my students and myself in Science. We were selected for a trip to Washington D.C., One of 20 schools selected to participate in a program at the Museum of Science and Industry, honorable mention in the Toshiba ExploraVision contest, honorable mention in the Disney Planet Project, and several others. Was awarded multiple grants for money, supplies, and books.  Selected as one of one hundred teachers selected world wide to attend Space Camp 2011. Also one of 3 three teachers selected from Illinois to attend the PEAK conference/workshop in California. was known as The Science Guy from District #11. I was happily retired for about 5 or 6 weeks, when I was offered a job here. I wanted to work at a Catholic School and see what it was like. While I had great qualifications, I believe my proudest quality I could offer was a strong, positive male role model. I enjoy working with kids. plus being able to work part-time provided me the freedom to pursue my other activities.

Outside of school, I enjoy my family, including 13 grandchildren, some travel, and multiple Church activities. (Sacred Heart), including being the Grand Knight  of the Knights of Columbus #17253.
